PILI, CamSur (6 January 2010) --  The Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported that some 11,700 underweight children in some 204 remote and coastal barangays of the province of Camarines Sur have benefited under the LRay Vita Kidz Nutrition Program last year.

The 11,700 children beneficiaries last year brought to a total of 25,574 children beneficiaries since the project was launched in year 2005 by Governor LRay Villafuerte.

PILI, CamSur (November 18) - Provincial employees are set to receive an unexpected windfall as Governor LRay Villafuerte announced that all employees of the provincial government will be given an additional P10,000 cash gift payable before Christmas.

Governor Villafuerte personally delivered the good news at the Capitol main building lobby early this month during the opening ceremonies of the maiden staging of the Gov. LRay Sportsfest 2009.

PILI, Camarines Sur (31 October)- The Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC), conceded the "best cable wake park in the world", will be the focus of international extreme sports circles as Governor LRay Villafuerte in partnership with the Asian Wakeboard Association bring to the province the second edition of the Asian Wake Park Championship on October 30 to November 1, 2009.

PILI, CAMSUR (16 October)-The Camarines Sur Dragon Boat team added another feather in its cap by capturing the championship in three categories-International Freestyle, Corporate Club Crew Open and 200 m men open in the prestigious SAVA Sprints International V in Singapore last October 11 and 12.

The SAVA Sprints International V featured teams from Canada, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, England, Japan, United States, Malaysia and several teams from the Philippines.

Camarines Sur (2 October)-More than 1,000 couples walked down the aisle in the "Kasalan sa Ngalan ng Diyos" church mass wedding held at the St. James de Apostle Parish church, Libmanan under the sponsorship of the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur here October 1-2.

The two-day affair tops the spot as the biggest mass wedding ever conducted under the Kasalang Bayan Program held at various municipalities in Camarines Sur with some 526 couples sealing their wedding vows during the first day and at least 600 on the second day.

PILI, Camarines Sur - New Zealand's Terenzo Bozzone and Lisa Bentley of Canada confirmed they are among the world's speediest and toughest multisport athletes by handily clinching the maiden edition of Ironman 70.3 Philippines held at the renowned Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC) here, Sunday, August 23.

This is the very first time a triathlon of international calibre has ever been staged in the country, thus a historical episode in national sports, hosted by Governor LRay Villafuerte and the province government of Cam. Sur.

Some 200 talented local dancers selected from state universities and colleges of the province will be awarded college scholarships by the provincial government of Camarines Sur as part of Gov. LRay's scholarship program for CamSur constituents.

Dubbed "Search for LRay Dance Scholars," the program is geared at assuring continuing college education for currently enrolled college students as well as for those graduating high school scholars under the aforementioned scholarship program with talent and potential in dancing.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has chosen Camarines Sur as Model Province for Region V in the implementation of Republic Act 9485, known as the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007 (ARTA).

Model provinces and cities of each region were identified for their having completed their respective Citizen's Charters, set up Public Assistance and Complaint Desks and adopted measures to stop fixing activities in their jurisdictions.

PILI, Camarines Sur - Twenty talented and glamorous young Bikolana lasses will contend for this year's Miss Kaogma and other crowns and hefty prizes after the initial eliminations conducted last Saturday, May 16 at the Bamboo Grille of  Eco Village at the Provincial Capitol Complex.

The Search for Miss Kaogma Pageant fully supported by Governor LRay Villafuerte is a major highlight of the Kaogma Festival celebrated annually to mark the Foundation Anniversary of the province.

PILI, CAMSUR-The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur in collaboration with the regional office  of  the  Department  of  Health  conducted  an  orientation  seminar on  Influenza A (H1N1) Tuesday, May  19   at  Regent Hotel  to  inform  and  educate  participants  on the  salient  points  of  this  virus  which  originated in Mexico  and  now inexorably spreading to different parts of the world.

The activity was spearheaded a composite team from the DOH regional office and personnel of Camarines Sur's Provincial Health Office.

The activity  was  fully  supported  by  Governor  LRay  Villafuerte  who considers the health  of  his  constituents  among the  priorities  of  his intensified social services programs.
