UNEP Grabs Top Plum During ADNU Business Confab

Competing students from the University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) dominated the annual Regional Association of Bicol Business Students Congress held February 26-28 at the Ateneo De Naga University.

The confab was sponsored by the Ateneo Business Summit of the College of Business and Accountancy under this year's theme "Education in Business: Partnering with Industry to ensure a bright future for business students."   The summit also aims to mold business students towards being effective catalysts of change.

Declared as the event's Over-all Champion, UNEP students have all the reasons to celebrate after proving once more that they are indeed a team to beat when it comes to academic exercise. Aside from grabbing the top plum, they also won in various contests held during the entire duration of the summit.

UNEP was declared Champion in the Amazing Race competition and first placers in Extemporaneous Speaking and in Fun Games contest.  They emerged second runner up in the Search for Mr. and Miss ABBS 2010 but grabbed the Miss Photogenic award in the Female Category.  Other awards that UNEP team carted away include Best in Business Interview, Early Bird registrants and Biggest Delegation.

Aside from the ABBS Regional Congress, the event was also highlighted with different colorful activities which include the Regional Campus Trade Fair, a lecture- forum on the academe-industry partnership and different academic endeavors.

These activities were all geared towards honing the students to become effective entrepreneurs.  The confab organizers believe that the kind of exposure and training that they get out of this academic exercise will surely boost their entrepreneurial spirit and challenged them to pursue their chosen fields of expertise.

The holding of the Ateneo Business Summit is reinforced by the provisions of Republic Act (RA) No. 7722, otherwise known as the "Higher Education Act of 1994."
